Beautiful song

This song is from a school called Russel Street. I wanted to share it with you. I hope we can learn it together. This is the translation:

Good bye
friends
(You're) going to
other
schools (aaahhhh)

We will be lonely
(but) friends
be strong
be confident, be brave, have prestige.

Chorus

Don't worry
what have you learnt?
to dance
to laugh
to strive for excellence.

Stage 7 multiplication strategies

The Octagon group are currently working within Stage 7. The Numeracy project requires students to use a variety of strategies when tackling addition/subtraction/multiplication and division problems. This video is their demonstration of multiplying two numbers together. The strategies used are using distributive properties (using standard place value/ using tidy numbers) and proportional adjustment (doubling and halving). Have a look and decide which strategy you would choose.

Stage 6 subtraction strategies

The Hexagon group are currently working within Stage 6. The Numeracy project requires students to use a variety of strategies when tackling addition/subtraction/multiplication and division problems. This video is their demonstration of subtracting using 3 digit numbers. The problems are solved using place value knowledge/place value partitioning/compensating with a tidy number and by reversing (adding instead of subtracting). Have a look and decide which strategy you would use.

Stage 5 addition strategies

The Pentagon group are currently working within Stage 5. The Numeracy project requires students to use a variety of strategies when tackling addition and subtraction problems. This video is their demonstration of adding two numbers by either working from doubles or by going up through tens. Have a look and decide which strategy you would choose.
